As the year 2023 drew to a close, the Navigation and Maps category on Android devices saw varied performance across the top applications in Latin America. Data sourced from Sensor Tower provides a clear view of the trends in downloads and weekly active users during the fourth quarter.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a strong presence, with downloads escalating from 294K in the last week of September to over 404K by the year's end. The app also witnessed an increase in weekly active users, starting at 5.48M and peaking at 5.99M before slightly dropping to 5.83M.
Google Earth experienced a decrease in both downloads and active users over the quarter. The downloads dipped from 104K to 74K, while active users saw a decline from 886K to 781K.
For GPS Earth Maps Live Navigation, the downloads showed variability, with a high point of 58K in October, a trough in December at 33K, and a slight rebound to 41K. Active users showed growth from 103K to 152K, indicating a rise in the app's usage.
